The Board of Commissioners honored all veterans and promoted Operation Green Light during the annual Veterans' Day ceremony Friday, November 11. Major Timothy J. Ryan (retired) was the guest speaker for the event. Mr. Ryan's unit participated in several battles, including fighting alongside Ranger and Delta Operators in Mogadishu , as depicted in the book "Blackhawk Down." His actions earned him the Bronze Star for Valor and the Bronze Star for Meritorious JAG lawyer.
Operation Green Light encourages citizens to display a green light in a window of their place of business or residence as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans.
