License Suspension Guidelines

Once admitted into the ARD program, driver’s license suspensions are as follows:

  • 0.08 - 0.099% BAC: No license suspension and 15 hours community service
  • 0.10 - 0.159% BAC: 30-day suspension and 20 hours community service
  • 0.16 - 0.199% BAC: 60-day suspension and 25 hours of community service
  • 0.20 - 0.239% BAC: 60-day suspension and 50 hours community service
  • 0.24 - 0.299% BAC: 60-day suspension and 75 hours community service
  • Accident with bodily injury or property damage: 60-day suspension
  • Controlled substance: 60-day suspension and 80 hours community service
  • Minors: automatic 90-day suspension, with community service hours determined by BAC
  • Unknown BAC: 60-day suspension

PennDot will suspend the offender's driver's license for one year on refusals.  If you file for a license appeal, you are NOT ELIGIBLE for ARD Program.
