An Elizabethtown man is charged with selling fentanyl last week to a man who died minutes later.
Tyler S. Bobola, 21, is charged with felony drug delivery resulting in death regarding an Aug. 31 sale of heroin – which was actually pure fentanyl.
A 22-year-old Elizabethtown man consumed the fentanyl and overdosed at his North Cherry Alley home. He died at an area hospital.
Bobola, of South Market Street, is at Lancaster County Prison on $250,000 bail. Elizabethtown Borough police Detective Dustin Ryan filed the charge, which was approved by Assistant District Attorney Barry Goldman.
The investigation is ongoing. In a Sept. 6 search of Bobola’s apartment, police found numerous bundles of heroin/fentanyl and substantial amounts of drug-packaging materials. The packaging matched evidence at the scene of the fatal overdose.
Police also connected Bobola to the death through cellphone analysis and other information. The cellphone evidence showed the sale took place less about an hour before a 911 call for the overdose.
Police found eight cellphones at Bobola’s apartment.
Bobola is presumed innocent.
