[ARCHIVED] GUILTY: Terre Hill Man Convicted of Beating, Strangling and Threats with Pistol

ZackeryZerbe

A Terre Hill man was convicted of severely beating a woman last year and holding a gun to her head while threatening to kill.

A Lancaster County jury on Tuesday convicted 27-year-old Zackery J. Zerbe of felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault (two counts) and terroristic threats.

Assistant District Attorney Susan Ellison presented evidence at the two-day trial about the Nov. 11, 2016, attack in the 200 block of New Street.

The jury deliberated about 40 minutes before deciding the case Tuesday afternoon.

Lancaster County Judge Howard Knisely, who presided over the trial, will order sentence after a background check is completed within 90 days.

The woman testified of how she lost consciousness after being repeatedly punched and strangled.

Other witnesses, including police and the emergency room physician who treated the woman, testified of the injuries which were consistent with being strangled and punched.

East Earl Township police Officer Courtenay Delaney filed charges.
