Investigation Logo4

A 27-year-old man fatally shot himself during a warrant detail Friday morning in Conestoga.

Patrick G. Sensenig died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Southern Regional police, along with personnel from the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, investigated at the property, in the 3100 block of Main Street in Conestoga.

Police were at a home in a small trailer community there to make contact with Sensenig, who was wanted on a felony warrant.

About 6:55 a.m. Friday, police made contact with Sensenig and a woman who were at one of the trailer homes. The man and woman were notified of why police were there. While police, Sensenig and the woman were inside the trailer home, Sensenig asked to retrieve shoes from another room closeby. While inside that room, Sensenig fired a shot, inflicting the fatal wound.

Police fired no shots and Sensenig fired no shots at police. Also, there was no physical confrontation between police and Sensenig.
