[ARCHIVED] Task Force Sting Nets Crack Cocaine Dealer on Route 272 in Adamstown

A Reading man is charged with dealing crack cocaine after a recent traffic stop in Adamstown.

Kenny Cruz, 35, is charged with possession with intent to distribute regarding the July 25 stop on North Reading Road (Route 272).

Lancaster County Drug Task Force stopped Cruz’s BMW sedan following an investigation of Cruz that revealed suspected drug trafficking.

Detectives seized an ounce of crack cocaine from Cruz and 19 bags (about 2 grams) of crack cocaine in the BMW, which also was seized. The drugs had an estimated street value of $3,000.

Cruz also had $620 cash.

Ephrata police assisted with the traffic stop.

Cruz was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000, which he posted Sunday.

Cruz was based in Reading and dealing in the Lancaster-Berks County region.

He also had an active warrant out of Berks County.

Cruz is presumed innocent.
