An Akron man will serve up to 16 years in prison for sexual abuse of two pre-teenage boys.

Jay E. Horning, 28, pleaded guilty in March to 10 felonies regarding abuse which happened in Ephrata in 2004 and 2006.

Lancaster County Judge David Ashworth recently ordered Horning serve 8 to 16 years in prison for the crimes, which include rape of a child.

Assistant District Attorney Karen Mansfield, lead prosecutor, asked the judge to order consecutive prison terms – one for each victim.

Judge Ashworth ordered that, telling Horning he will serve sentences for trauma he caused both victims.

The crimes happened at a location on Meadow Valley Road in Ephrata. Horning and the boys’ families were acquaintances.
