[ARCHIVED] Repeat Burglar to State Prison for Stealing Power Tools in East Earl Township

Kevin Conover

A Berks County man convicted of breaking into a garage and taking a snowblower, chainsaw, and other items will serve a state-prison sentence.

Kevin Conover was recently sentenced in Lancaster County Court to 2 to 4 years in prison for the Oct. 6, 2015, burglary on Division Highway in East Earl Township.

In court, Assistant District Attorney Jennifer L. Ponessa pointed to Conover’s criminal history which includes a prior burglary conviction and a federal prison sentence on drug charges.

As part of sentence, Lancaster County Judge Howard Knisely also ordered Conover pay $1,075 in restitution.

A local jury convicted Conover in December of burglary and related counts.

The victims arrived at the garage as Conover was stealing the items. Conover fled, leaving his truck at the scene. The truck was traced to Conover, who the victims identified as the man who was stealing the property.

East Earl Township police Officer Daniel Nipper filed charges.
