[ARCHIVED] 3 Lancaster County Men Jailed in Separate Child Pornography, Child Solicitation Cases

Grear, Bunting, Diedrich

Three Lancaster County men were recently sentenced to state prison – two for having collections of child pornography and the other for attempting to solicit sex with a 6-year-old girl.

The sentences were ordered in accordance with plea agreements in recent days in Lancaster County Court. Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart arranged the plea agreements.

- Patrick J. Grear, 59, of Saddle Drive, Lancaster, will serve 12 to 24 years for possessing child pornography, his second such conviction.

Grear pleaded guilty to three felonies, including dissemination of images, and was sentenced by Lancaster County Judge Howard Knisely.

Judge Knisely told Grear in court Monday that a third conviction could carry a life sentence.

Manheim Township police Detective Sgt. Keith Kreider filed charges.

-  Shane N. Bunting, 26, of East Petersburg, will serve 5 ½ to 11 years for attempting to solicit sex with a 6-year-old girl.

Bunting made attempts via Facebook messages. There was no physical contact with the girl.

Bunting pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation to rape of a child. Lancaster County Judge Jeffery Wright ordered sentence on Jan. 31.

Manheim Borough police Detective Jeffrey Kiesel filed charges.

- Robert A. Diedrich, 46, of East Earl, will serve 3 to 10 years for possessing about 100 child pornography images.

Diedrich received an enhanced sentence due to the nature of certain images.

Judge Knisely ordered sentenced Wednesday after Diedrich pleaded guilty to three felonies.

East Earl Township police Officer Daniel Nipper filed charges.
