A Lancaster County jury convicted a man of felony burglary for breaking into a garage last year and taking the victim’s snowblower, chainsaw, and other items.
Kevin Conover, 53, of Berks County, will be sentenced after a background check is completed in about three months.
The jury convicted Conover Dec. 1 of felony burglary and misdemeanor theft, following a two-day trial before Lancaster County Judge Howard Knisely.
Assistant District Attorney Jennifer L. Ponessa presented evidence and testimony that Conover broke into a garage on Division Highway, East Earl Township, on Oct. 6, 2015, and stole the power tools and other property.
The victims arrived at the garage as Conover was stealing the items. Conover fled, leaving his truck at the scene. The truck was traced to Conover, who the victims identified as the man who was stealing the property.
The jury deliberated for about an hour and a half before deciding the case.
East Earl Township police Officer Daniel Nipper filed charges.
