[ARCHIVED] Burglar Jailed up to 23 Years for Targeting Neighbors in Lancaster Township Spree

Gary Hollow

A Lancaster Township burglar will serve up to 23 years in prison for targeting five homes in his Lancaster Township neighborhood.

Gary Lee Hollow Jr. stole jewelry, cash, and electronics in the January spree on Chadwick Circle and Judie Lane. He lived in the 1600 block of Chadwick Circle, off Wabank Road.

Hollow, 35, was arrested while pawning some of the items at a Lancaster city pawn shop.

Lancaster County President Judge Dennis Reinaker recently ordered Hollow - who has a felony burglary among past convictions - to 10 to 23 years in prison.

First Assistant District Attorney Christopher P. Larsen said in court that each victim was impacted by the crimes and asked the judge to order separate, consecutive prison terms for each home, which Judge Reinaker did.

Judge Reinaker also ordered Hollow pay back about $5,000 in remaining restitution to the victims.

Hollow broke into basement windows of the homes between Jan. 12 and 26. He pleaded guilty in August to the spree.

In court, he pointed to drug addiction as reason for the crimes.

Manheim Township police Detective Steven Newman filed charges.
