A Willow Street man pleaded guilty Friday in Lancaster County Court to serving as getaway driver last year after a Strasburg store robbery that ended in a fiery vehicle crash miles away.
Kervin Perales, 24, will serve 4 to 10 years in state prison, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Travis S. Anderson.
In exchange for that sentence, Perales pleaded guilty to felony counts of conspiracy to robbery and fleeing police.
In court, Perales took responsibility for his role in the crimes, according to Anderson.
On Nov. 16, 2015, Perales was the driver of an Audi which fled - with two male robbers - the Sunoco at 280 North Decatur Street.
The two males have not been apprehended or charged. Strasburg police ask anyone with information about those two males to call 717-687-7128.
After the robbery, East Lampeter Township police Detective Christopher Jones pursued the Audi which crashed on Millport Road, near Rocky Springs Bowling Center, in West Lampeter Township.
The vehicle caught fire and the three occupants fled. Detective Jones caught Perales after a foot chase.
Surveillance video from the Sunoco assisted in the investigation. The two robbers are depicted in surveillance images.
The armed robbers fled with cash and Newport cigarettes.
Strasburg police Officer Bradley Klunk and Detective Jones filed charges.
