An East Lampeter man will serve at least three years in state prison for keeping a large collection of child pornography.
Steven A. Brown, 63, pleaded guilty Thursday to five felonies in exchange for a 3-to-10-year prison term, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart.
Lancaster County Judge Donald Totaro accepted the plea terms and ordered sentence.
Brown must register his whereabouts with state police, under Megan’s Law, for 15 years. Upon release, he must abide by sex-offender conditions, including a ban of internet and smartphone use.
Earlier this year, police seized numerous devices with suspected child pornography from Brown’s hotel room. Detectives found at least 2,000 images and several videos, according to Swinehart.
The investigation started when a cleaning agency discovered printed images of child pornography while cleaning a home on Country Lane, which Brown had moved from.
Police tracked Brown to a hotel on Lincoln Highway East and discovered numerous USBs and other devices.
Police are also investigating the origin of the child pornography. Anyone with information is asked to contact East Lampeter Police at 291-4676. Detective Joseph Edgell, who filed the previous charges, is lead investigator.
