Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting incident in East Cocalico Township, where a woman was struck by a round fired by a target shooter.
The victim, 22-year-old Jamie Horning, was in a home in the 500 block of Reinholds Road, when she was struck in the neck about 3 p.m.
East Cocalico police discovered the round was fired by a member of a group of target shooters in the 800 block of South Ridge Road, which runs parallel to the Reinholds Road home.
Horning was taken to Reading Hospital before being transferred to a hospital in Philadelphia. She is in stable condition.
The group of target shooters has been cooperative with police. All have been interviewed.
Police, in conjunction with the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office, continue to investigate to determine if a crime occurred.
Police collected weapons, ammunition, and other physical evidence from the scene.
