A Harrisburg parolee is charged with pistol-whipping and robbing a woman he arranged online to meet at a Denver hotel.
Police allege Daryl Dion Walker Jr. arranged meetings using online classified ads, and robbed two of those women.
The most recent happened in Lancaster County, on Jan. 29, at the Econo Lodge on North Reading Road (Route 272). A few days earlier, he robbed a woman at a Harrisburg apartment.
Walker, 21, is at Dauphin County Prison, without bail for a parole violation regarding a prior robbery.
East Cocalico Township police Detective Keith Neff recently filed felony charges of robbery and conspiracy.
Susquehanna Township police in Dauphin County charged Walker with a robbery on Jan. 25 and a fleeing incident on Jan. 13.
The victim in the East Cocalico case told police she agreed to meet a man (later determined to be Walker) via an online classified site, Backpage.
At the Econo Lodge, the woman was robbed of purses and jewelry. When Walker struggled to unlock a door and flee, he struck the woman several times with a gun.
A few days later, the man called her back and asked to meet up again. The man was calling from the same phone number, which police traced to Walker.
Walker has confessed to robbing the woman.
