A local jury is deliberating the fate of a Lancaster man charged with rape and other abuse of a pre-teenage girl for two years.
Ramon Luis Jusino, 37, has been at Lancaster County Prison since October 2014, charged with 8 counts of sex abuse – 7 felonies – regarding alleged abuse at his Columbia Avenue home.
First Assistant District Attorney Christopher Larsen gave a closing argument Tuesday afternoon, following more than three days of testimony.
County Judge James Cullen then instructed jurors on the law, before allowing them to start deliberations about 3:45 p.m. Deliberations resumed Wednesday morning.
Lancaster city police Detective Gareth Lowe charged Jusino with abuse of the girl, beginning in 2012 when she was 6. She testified at trial.
Among the other testimony presented was a 9-hour statement Jusino gave to investigators.
Attorneys selected a jury on Jan. 19, following pre-trial matters that morning.
Four of the charges are first-degree felonies.
