[ARCHIVED] 2 Hurt in Hit-and-Run at Manheim Restaurant Parking Lot

Two pedestrians were injured early Sunday morning when they were struck by a vehicle in a Manheim restaurant parking lot.

The pedestrians, a 32-year-old Harrisburg man and a 30-year-old Elizabethtown woman, were struck about 1:40 a.m., by a vehicle leaving the Cat’s Meow at 215 S. Charlotte St.

The vehicle backed into the victims, pinning them against another vehicle in the lot. The female driver then fled the scene, police reported.

With information provided by witnesses, police caught up with the suspect vehicle a short time later in Rapho Township. The female driver was given a blood-alcohol test.

The female victim is at an area hospital. The male victim was treated at an area hospital for head injuries and released.

At the time of this release, no charges have been filed. Manheim police are investigating the incident, in conjunction with Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman’s office.

Charges are expected to be filed, possibly as soon as Tuesday. An update – including the suspect’s name – will be provided when that happens.

The female driver isn’t in custody. She has been cooperative with police.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or has information about it, to contact them at 717-665-2481.
