[ARCHIVED] Information Sought on Activities Involving Man Charged with Abusing Children

GustavoRendon

The investigation of a New Holland man recently charged with sexual abuse of six children is ongoing.

Law enforcement officials would like to hear from individuals with information about 51-year-old Gustavo Rendon’s contact with children.

Other individuals were reportedly present when some of the abuse happened.

Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Kory Wardrop charged Rendon on April 24 with 33 offenses, including 21 felonies, regarding crimes in multiple locations in Lancaster and Berks counties between 2003 and 2010.

The six victims were pre-teens when the abuse began. The abuse went on for years. One of the older victims reported the conduct earlier this year. The children were then interviewed.

Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick approved the filing of charges.

Rendon, who was recently living in an apartment in the 100 block of East Main Street, is presumed innocent. He is at Lancaster County Prison without bail.

As of Tuesday, no one else is charged regarding the sexual abuse.

Anyone with information they believe police should be aware of can contact Trooper Wardrop at 717-290-1965 or kwardrop@pa.gov.

Information also can be submitted by clicking the SUBMIT A TIP  button at the bottom of this this CrimeWatch page, or by emailing DistrictAttorney@co.lancaster.pa.us.

Rendon, known also as “Tavi,” raped and physically abused the victims in other ways. He also photographed the victims and allowed at least one other person to photograph at least one child.

The victims reported other individuals being present for some of the abuse.

A preliminary hearing scheduled for today (May 5) before District Judge Jonathan Heisse has been continued.

District Judge Heisse arraigned Rendon and denied bail, citing the safety of the victims and community.
