[ARCHIVED] Info Sought on Emaciated Horses Dropped Off at New Holland Stables

ThelmaLouise

Our office is assisting the Pennsylvania SPCA in the investigation of two horses dropped off last weekend at the New Holland Stables.

We are seeking information on who was involved in owning the horses and dropping them off at the stables.

If you have seen the horses (shown in the attached photos) prior to Monday, please contact the PSPCA at 866-601-7722 or cruelty@pspca.org, or our office at 717-299-8100 (ask for Detective Resh).

You can also submit tips on this investigation, or any potential instance of animal cruelty, to our office tipline at AnimalAbuse@co.lancaster.pa.us.

The horses, Thelma (with black in her coat) and Louise, received treatment at PSPCA headquarters in Philadelphia and are recovering.

They were left at the stables Sunday or early Monday; stables staff found them on Monday and contacted the SPCA. Our office was then contacted.

Louise was badly emaciated with her hips and ribs protruding. Thelma was also in poor condition.
