PhilipGiletto

A man is charged with stabbing three people Monday night inside a coach bus on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Rapho Township.

Pennsylvania State Police charged 31-year-old Philip Giletto with several offenses, including two counts of attempted homicide, regarding the 11:30 p.m. incident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Route 76).

Giletto was arraigned Tuesday morning and remanded to Lancaster County Prison. District Judge Joshua Keller denied bail.

State Trooper Kory Wardrop filed charges with approval from First Assistant District Attorney Travis S. Anderson.

Giletto, who has no permanent address, is presumed innocent.

Three passengers – two men and a woman - aboard the cross-country bus were stabbed.

A man remains hospitalized with serious injuries. A second man was treated at a hospital and released. The woman was treated at the scene.

None of the victims are from Lancaster County. Giletto previously lived in Pennsylvania (not Lancaster County).

Other passengers intervened in the attack, holding Giletto until police arrived.

Investigators are not making comment on motive at this point.

A switchblade-style knife was used; Giletto is charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Giletto is also charged with five counts of aggravated assault (regarding the three victims), three counts of simple assault, and three counts of reckless endangerment.
