[ARCHIVED] Decades of Prison, Parole and Probation for West Lampeter Man who Sexually Abused Girl for Years

A West Lampeter Township man was recently sentenced to 50 years of supervision for rape and other sexual abuse of a girl that went on for about 10 years.

Joseph Valentin Jr., 36, pleaded guilty to numerous felonies – including rape of a child - Friday in Lancaster County Court regarding the abuse in Lancaster city and East Lampeter Township.

Valentin will serve 15 to 30 years in prison, followed by 20 years of probation, in accordance with a plea agreement arranged by Assistant District Attorney Fritz Haverstick.

The victim’s mother spoke at sentencing about the devastation caused by the abuse, which happened between 2005 and 2015.

Lancaster County President Judge Dennis Reinaker accepted the plea terms and ordered sentence.

East Lampeter Township police Detective Joseph Edgell and Lancaster city police Detective Ryan Hockley filed charges.
