Two alleged suppliers of fentanyl were arrested after the Lancaster County Drug Task Force found 7,880 bags of fentanyl during a raid in Lancaster city.
Joshua Flores, 27, and Jacob Delmonte, 21, are charged with bringing the fentanyl supply from Philadelphia for distribution in Lancaster County.
The Drug Task Force charged each with felony possession with intent to deliver (fentanyl) and conspiracy. A district judge ordered both to face the charges in Lancaster County Court following a preliminary hearing last week.
Flores and Delmonte are at Lancaster County Prison on $1 million bail apiece. They are presumed innocent.
“The Drug Task Force continues to target larger-scale trafficking operations bringing deadly poisons to our neighborhoods,” Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman said. “Specifically, we have recently charged several Philadelphians transporting pure or nearly-pure fentanyl bags.”
On Feb. 12, the Task Force raided a home in the 300 block of Crystal Street.
With assistance from K9 Bear, detectives found the 7,880 bags packaged in “bricks” or “ice cream sandwiches” – consistent with Philadelphia-style packaging.
Detectives found about 30 bricks with approximately 560 total bundles.
A standard bag of heroin/fentanyl sells for about $10, meaning the seized stash had an approximate value of $78,800.
