The Pennsylvania DUI Association recently honored Assistant District Attorney Ande Gonzalez with the Impaired Driving Prosecutor Award.
Gonzalez was honored at a recent ceremony, along with five Lancaster County police officers, recognized for their efforts against impaired driving.
The DUI Association specifically recognized Gonzalez’s work in becoming the state’s first prosecutor - and believed to be first in the country - to complete the Drug Recognition Expert certification process.
That work will enhance the coordination between District Attorney Stedman’s office and drug recognition experts working in the county.
This year marks the second time in four years the DUI Association has honored Gonzalez.
Gonzalez recently assisted as an advisor to District Attorney Stedman and Sen. John Rafferty in drafting Act 153 of 2018, which provided for enhanced penalties for repeat DUI offenders convicted of homicide by vehicle while DUI and felony gradings on certain repeat DUI offenses.
