The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office charged a West Lampeter Township man with misdemeanor assault regarding incidents at his home last week.
Damon Bronstetter, a Lancaster city police officer, is charged with two counts of simple assault for grabbing a woman’s arms, pinning her to the ground, and putting his hands around her neck on Oct. 29 and 30.
The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, specifically the county detectives division, investigated the incident and filed the second-degree misdemeanor charges.
Bronstetter, 27, was arraigned Monday evening and bail was set at $25,000 unsecured.
The incident took place at a home on Musser Avenue in West Lampeter Township.
Bronstetter and the woman were arguing over their dog when the assault happened.
Bronstetter is presumed innocent.
