[ARCHIVED] Press Release: Small Games of Chance Licenses Change

Press-Release-Icon-250.jpg

Effective immediately, it will no longer be necessary for organizations applying for an initial Bingo or Local Option Small Games of Chance License or renewal of those licenses, to first come to the District Attorney’s Office for review and approval of the applications. Applications, with the required additional documentation, can be taken directly to the:

Lancaster County Treasurer’s Office
Suite 122,
Lancaster County Government Center,
50 North Queen Street,
Lancaster, PA 17608

Under both laws, the Treasurer of the various Counties is the designated issuing agent for the licenses. This change is being made to eliminate the inconvenience of having to take the applications to offices located in two completely separate County facilities. The Treasurer’s Office staff is thoroughly familiar with the licensing and compliance requirements of the laws and the District Attorney’s Office will continue to work closely with the Treasurer’s staff to insure statute compliance, resolve legal questions and to investigate potential violations of the Bingo and Local Option Small Games of Chance laws. Likewise, County Detectives will continue to be available to answer questions about licensing and compliance.
