A Lancaster man is charged with supplying large quantities of marijuana, “wax,” mushrooms and other substances following a unified effort between law-enforcement that involved multiple agencies and searches.
Brent McCracken is charged with several felonies regarding searches last week of his Old Trinity Place home and a storage unit in Manheim Township.
Lancaster city police, specifically its Selective Enforcement Unit (SEU), led the investigation with assistance from the Lancaster County Drug Task Force and Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.
Police seized over 46 pounds of marijuana, “wax” manufactured from marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, and over $150,000 believed to be profits from the dealing operation.
Lancaster city police charged McCracken regarding what was found at the home; Lancaster County Drug Task Force filed charges regarding contents of the storage unit on Marble Drive. The investigation is ongoing; additional charges could be filed.
Bail for McCracken is set at a combined $350,000. He posted the initial bail ($100,000) via a bondsman, and was recommitted to prison when the Task Force filed charges Friday regarding the storage unit.
Dorothy Dearman, who was living at the Old Trinity Place home, also is charged for what was found there. She is at Lancaster County Prison on $100,000 bail.
The investigation started Sept. 24 when city police responded to McCracken’s home for a domestic disturbance.
Police noticed a strong scent of marijuana and McCracken allowed the officers to step into the home. Marijuana was in plain view, so police obtained a search warrant and found:
- About 6 ¼ pounds of marijuana
- About 3 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms
- About 9 ounces of marijuana “wax”
- Materials to produce and cultivate mushrooms and marijuana “wax”
Police obtained information regarding a storage unit McCracken rented in Manheim Township. The Lancaster County Drug Task Force employed their K-9 Bear who alerted on possible drugs in McCracken’s unit. Police obtained a warrant and searched the unit.
They found:
- About 40 pounds of marijuana
- 25 ounces of marijuana “wax”
- 21 ounces of THC oil in cartridges
- $154,940 cash
- Drug paraphernalia
Marijuana “wax” is a more pure form of THC (the active component in marijuana), thus making it much more powerful, according to detectives.
McCracken and Dearman are presumed innocent.
