DwayneRoss

A Lancaster man was recently convicted of felony drug-dealing for having cocaine when he was driving a taxi last year in East Lampeter Township.

A Lancaster County jury deliberated for about 30 minutes before convicting 37-year-old Dwayne J. Ross on Aug. 2 of possession with intent to deliver cocaine.

Lancaster County Judge Merrill Spahn Jr., who presided over trial, will sentence Ross after a background check is completed.

Assistant District Attorney Amber Czerniakowski presented evidence at the two-day trial that Ross was driving a taxi, with two passengers, when he was pulled over for speeding in the 1900 block of Lincoln Highway East.

East Lampeter Township police found 24.4 grams of cocaine in a center console and an additional 1.2 grams in a driver’s-side door compartment.

Officer Sam Goss filed charges.
