About the Program
On May 29, 2009, the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners had the privilege of initiating the Lancaster County Prescription Drug Discount Card program, a free discount card that offers Lancaster County residents an average savings of 28.8% on prescription drugs not covered by another health insurance plan.
The Lancaster County Board of Commissioner is able to offer this program through their membership with the National Association of Counties. The program is administered through CVS / Caremark.
Since its start, the Lancaster County Prescription Drug Discount Card program has saved Lancaster County residents over $1,588,215.73 on 79,530 prescription medications. We are encouraged and humbled by the number of people who have already benefited from the program, and hope many more will find the discount card to be of value in the months ahead.
The Lancaster County Prescription Drug Discount Card may be used by all county residents, regardless of age, income, or existing health coverage, and is accepted at 99 pharmacies in Lancaster County and over 59,000 pharmacies nationwide. There are no enrollment forms or membership fees to use the card.
During these difficult economic times, we are especially glad to bring this program to Lancaster County and hope that every resident who may benefit from the program has the opportunity to do so.
