Objective:
The Controller’s Office is constantly working to assure financial accountability to the taxpayers of Lancaster County, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Federal Government, and to investors of our General Obligation Bonds. In doing so, we always act in the best nature of the County in a pleasant and professional manner.
Mission:
The mission of the Lancaster County Controller’s Office is to provide and promote County-wide accountability and efficiency in all fiscal operations and policies promulgated by the Board of Commissioners. The Controller’s Office shall do so through six departmental units: General Accounting, Internal Audit, Accounts Payable, Financial Systems, Payroll, and Retirement. The Controller’s Office consistently works to keep the County finances, records, and financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). It is the goal of the Controller, as the County’s top fiscal watchdog, to promote this mission in the most effective manner possible, while best serving the taxpayers of Lancaster County.
