              TERMINATION OF COURT CASES

The Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County intends to terminate cases without further notice because the docket shows no activity in the case for at least two years.  You may stop the Court from terminating a case by filing a Statement of Intention to Proceed (filing fee is $33.75) with the Prothonotary of the Court at 50 N. Duke Street, P.O. Box 83480, Lancaster, PA 17608-3840 on or before September 1, 2015. IF YOU FAIL TO FILE THE REQUIRED STATEMENT OF INTENTION TO PROCEED, THE CASE WILL BE TERMINATED on September 2, 2015. The complete list of proposed cases to be terminated may be found, as of June 30, 2015, on the Prothonotary web site www.co.lancaster.pa.us/prothonotary along with the link to Statement of Intention to Proceed.  There will also a paper copy in the Prothonotary’s Office.

                                     NOTICE:
                    EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Currently, there are four different Civil Cover Sheets being submitted to the Prothonotary Office with filings.  In order to eliminate confusion, cut down on the number of phone calls with questions about which one to use and make it easier and more convenient for the filing party, we have combined all into just one form.  With a filing, you will still need the State Cover Sheet along with, if applicable, a Scheduling Cover Sheet.
This form, which is effective immediately, may be found on the Prothonotary Forms web site, available in the left hand side of this page, along with the State and Scheduling forms.
