D.F. Buchmiller Park

Buchmiller Park is named for Dulon F. Buchmiller, who donated the property to Lancaster City in 1922. The County of Lancaster acquired this 79-acre park in 1977. Located in West Lampeter Township, Buchmiller Park is known for its open lawn areas and beautiful plantings.

The following are some facilities and activities you can enjoy in Buchmiller:

{Pavilion 32} Pavilions: There are three pavilions located in Buchmiller. Each has a unique setting. Pavilion 31 is surrounded by well maintained lawn and has a fire place. Pavilion 32 has picnic tables inside and on a side terrace. While, Pavilion 33 is nestled among trees and a beautiful garden.

{Tennis} Tennis Courts: Buchmiller has six tennis courts that can be used free of charge on a first come first served basis or they can be reserved for a small hourly fee by contacting the Park Office in Central Park.

Volleyball: Equipment (a net and ball) will only be rented along with a pavilion. A $25.00 security deposit is required for equipment rental, while a nominal fee will be charged per day. The security deposit is refundable when the complete set of equipment is returned.

{Disc Golf} Disc Golf Course: There are only two public disc golf courses in Lancaster County, and ours is a full 18-hole course. If you can throw a Frisbee, you can play this game that is fun for the whole family. The rules are similar to those for regular golf: each throw counts as a point. Players throw until their disc goes in the yellow baskets, or holes. The player with the least number of total points wins. Click here for a scorecard and a map of the disc golf course layout.

{Playground} Playground: Kids of all ages can enjoy this playground complete with tot and regular swings, slides, a bridge and several climbing features.

From the City of Lancaster:

Take Prince Street, Rt. 222/272 south through the City of Lancaster. Cross the Conestoga River and continue one mile. The park will be on your right. The entrance is located .2 miles past the tennis courts on your right.
