As part of our commitment to promoting the conservation of natural resources, the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation offers environmental and nature education programs year round to the public, school groups, and other private groups of all ages.
Members of our staff of naturalists have backgrounds in biology, ecology, education, and geology. They are experienced educators who excel at introducing children and adults to the natural world.

Whatever the topic, our naturalists can custom tailor a program to meet the needs of any group or classroom. We can bring our programs to you or you can come to our Environmental Center, which is a beautifully restored nineteenth century bank barn.
Most of our school programs meet Pennsylvania's Education Standards for Science & Technology and Environment & Ecology. And, our programs can be conducted outdoors or indoors.
