Paddling Guide to the Historic Conestoga River

{Canoes} As one of the County’s more scenic rivers, the Conestoga is a popular waterway for canoeing and kayaking.  This Class 1 river runs for sixty miles, emptying into the Susquehanna.

The Paddling Guide to the Historic Conestoga River provides not only a map of the river complete with all public launch and take-out sites, portage sites, covered bridges, and more but also it includes details about ecological and historic points of interest along the way.

{Symbols} With this guide, you can literally float through the river’s history as the map points out landmarks along the river’s path.

This map is waterproof and folds to fit in any travel sack.

Copies of this map are on sale for $7 plus tax at the Lancaster County Department of Parks and Recreation’s Park Office and Shuts Environmental Library. Maps can also be purchased over the phone using a credit card.

For more information, call the Park Office at 299-8215.
