Volunteer or Intern with Archives

History has given us quite a bit to preserve and care for!

Lancaster County Archives preserves archival documents created within the various County Departments and Offices.  The Archives was  established in 1975, but we retain documents that go back to the County's formation in 1729. Many of our documents are used by researchers (historians, genealogists, title searchers, etc.). Because there are so many and some are quite old, we are constantly working on ways to preserve them as well as make them accessible to the publlc.

The County is unable to offer paid internships at this time, however, we are willing to work with academic institutions to develop independent studies or credit based projects.  Internships/volunteer work can also serve as experience for a resume.

The Archives is open from 8:30am and 5pm, Monday through Friday (except County Holidays).  We can offer flexible schedules within these times.

If you are interested in volunteering or interning with Lancaster Archives, please email us. Thanks!
