Personal Care Homes are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare to provide a variety of services including meals, laundry, cleaning, supervision and assistance with dressing, bathing, and diet control. They do not provide services which must be performed by registered nurses or other licensed medical staff.

Some personal care homes may accept a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefit on behalf of lower income consumers. To apply for the SSI Supplement, an assessment must initially be conducted by the Lancaster County Office of Aging.

The facilities that appear on this list are all fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.
