In our efforts to provide more reliable communications to residents and businesses in EAST PETERSBURG BOROUGH, we have selected SwiftReach Networks, Inc. as our Emergency Notification Service provider.

The uses for Swift911™ are numerous.  Some typical examples of the types of Swift911™ calls you may receive are:

· Snow accumulations have caused the Township to enact “Snow Storm Emergency Parking Rules” and close public schools.

· Due to local flooding, the Township requests residents to evacuate their homes and utilize the Town’s temporary shelters. 

· Police seek community assistance in identifying a suspect linked to several local crimes.

All calls sent from the Swift911™ Emergency Notification system will show the Caller ID of “EAST PETERSBURG BOROUGH” on your Caller ID display.

If you receive a call with the Caller ID of “EAST PETERSBURG BOROUGH” on your Caller ID display, you should answer the phone because the calls are being made to provide you with important information in the event of an emergency situation.

In some cases, the call may contain information on upcoming events or other subjects of a less critical nature.

where is contact information from?

Currently, the information we use to contact residents and businesses is based upon public, listed telephone records.

This information is not always totally accurate or up-to-date. The contact list doesn’t contain cell phone numbers or other forms of contact information such as email, text message or pager information.

It’s up to you to access our website to update your contact information so we may contact you for important messages.

To serve the community better, we encourage all residents and businesses to provide cellular telephone numbers, unlisted telephone numbers and additional contact information (email, text message and pager).

Do this by using the Internet and typing www.eastpetersburgborough.org into your web browser. Once you are on our web site, click on the Swift911™ Emergency Notification Services icon.

From there you will be directed to complete a Contact Information form.  The form allows you to add new contact information, update existing contact information or remove yourself from our lists. All information you provide is strictly for our use and will be kept private.

what about the hearing impaired?

The Swift911™ Emergency Notification System fully supports TTY/TDD devices for the hearing impaired so that they will not miss important emergency notifications.

what else can swift911™ do?

In addition to making phone calls, the Swift911™ Emergency Notification System can also contact you via email, Text/SMS message and pager simultaneously!  If you’ve provided multiple methods of contact, you can be reached no matter where you are using whatever device you have with you or have access to.

If you have entered multiple phone numbers in the contact information form on our website, the system can automatically waterfall from number to number until it reaches you!

So, as you can see, the more contact information you provide to us, the more likely you can be notified in the case of an emergency.
